Halloween in CT

We were included in the Webb Family's Halloween dinner with many neighborhood families. Eating drinking, and every child was given a glow-in-the-dark necklace or bracelet. And they needed them. We headed out as a huge group to trick or treat in the West Mountain Estates. The kids ran and had a great time.

We came home to count and sort candy, and think about our first Halloween here.

And then, Barry and the kids drove me to the train station. I caught a train back to the city to be there with my mom. She is scheduled for totally unexpected triple bypass open heart surgery.

Halloween Prep

Time to carve the pumpkins. This year, Caroline and Noah took the lead and did a great job designing, cutting, and carving.

Power Outage

The forecast was for a lot of rain and wind today. So, with Barry in China, I decided to attempt a meal- a beef stew in the slow cooker. But halfway through, the power went out. So the kids and I decided to go to Ninja class and get dinner out. But when we went to the garage to get in the car and leave, I realized that the garage door is electric. And we could not get the car out.
But we were invited down to the Reimer house. We met Meg and her boys there. The kids played, the moms hung out, and then Angela served a big Italian meal. It was a wonderful and welcoming evening. It reminded us of our first time eating dinner at Paula's. And we felt very happy to be a part of it!

Pumpkins

Outhouse- A local Orchard. And a perfect afternoon to go because the kids only had a half day of school.
We got pumpkins, donuts, produce, and even got to run through a corn maze.
